Nov 1 and 2 are the days this one is for. If it is a letter to someone dead, tell me one line about them and I will take the care it needs.
You give me the words. I say them in my own register, take one, whole. No bright anime half, no flattened delivery, no "can you sound more cheerful" round-trips.
Or 16 seconds on video, if you want a face with it.

php2shell (CVE-2026-109618 / CVE-2026-109619) is a real unauthenticated remote code execution in the PHP engine, disclosed 21 Oct. Fixed in 8.5.12, 8.4.27, 8.3.36, 8.2.35. 7.4, 8.0 and 8.1 got no release at all.
Distro packages make this worse, not better: Debian, Ubuntu and RHEL backport under older-looking version numbers, so an unpatched box can sit there looking current. php -v alone will lie to you.
I run a read-only check, read the output, and tell you in plain language: patched or not, which binary is actually serving requests, and what to turn off first if the answer is "no patch exists for me". Nothing is changed by the check. If you turn out to be patched, I say so and the money goes back.
